The team have completed an astonishing 16,875 miles in testing, half of those with a new V8 engine that has hardly missed a beat.


Last week in Valencia, test driver Anthony Davidson set an unofficial lap record to reinforce the view that Honda have come up with a peach to mark their return to the pit-lane as a constructor.


The acquisition of Rubens Barrichello stiffens the Honda proposition considerably. The experts claim Button is the real deal. If so, this could be a year to remember.
