The ex-Formula 1 World Champion has been installed as head of the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) and will replace another ex-World Champion, Jackie Stewart.

Said 3-times champ, Stewart:

I hope to get the total support of British motor racing. As a World Champion, Hill will maintain the presige of the post and will be an excellent ambassador for motor sports in the United Kingdom

Damon Hill will, however have to face a mountain of challenges, not least of which are the policy changes that surround the British Grand Prix, which has, to date been managed by the BRDC. there has been some suggestion that this role will be handed over to private investors, a move that would not best please the BRDC.
