Scuderia Toro Rosso and Scott Speed have been deducted their first Formula One point after the American was adjudged by race stewards to have overtaken David Coulthard under a yellow flag.

The stewards added on a mandatory 25 seconds to Speed's time, thus demoting him behind DC's Red Bull in the final standings. A statement from the stewards also revealed that Speed had been fined $5000 for using "abusive language to another competitor during the stewards' hearing." The other competitor is believed to be Coulthard.

There's been no official word as yet from Speed but it's safe to assume he will be devastated by the ruling. Speaking immediately after the race, he described finishing the race in eighth place as:

one of the greatest moments I've ever had in my life."

"To come from wherever we were on the grid - I can't even remember where we were, but I know it was a big number - it is incredible," he continued. "We always said our goal was to grab some points this year and to get the first one so early is incredible. It's one step closer to my goal. It was really exciting and what a feeling to come round on the last lap and to see the whole team up on the wall.
