Welcome back to the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, the 12th round of the 2006 FIA Formula One World Championship.
What the region most needed on Thursday night was a heavy storm to wash away the humidity, and unfortunately that’s just what it didn’t get. Friday is hence set to again be hot and sticky, with an expected ambient temperature high of around 30 degrees Celsius. There is a high chance of thunderstorms, and it is to be hoped that one will ease the heatwave conditions.
The same is forecast for Saturday, with a temperature rise again for raceday when there could be scattered showers. So overall, another sweltering weekend with unpleasant working conditions, especially for the drivers.
The 4.574 kilometre (2.842 mile) circuit is unchanged since last year. The 67-lap race will run over 306.458 kilometres (190.433 miles) and will start at 1400 hours local time (1200 GMT).
